Daniel Varela founded the Deep Tissue Center as an alternative health clinic in February of 1992. Mr. Varela is a graduate of the California College of Physical Arts, the International College of Kinesiology, Board certified as a Kinesiology Instructor and is a Board Certified Expert in Alternative Medicine. With an extensive background in soft tissue injuries it was not long before athletes began to avail themselves to this alternative form of therapy. Specializing in Neuromuscular Re-education, NMR, combined with Applied Kinesiolgy his client list soon became a literal who’s who in the world of athletics. Within the first six months of operation he was involved with some of this nation’s top sprinters and NFL athletes.
By the 1996 Olympics he was involved with an international client base including Olympic athletes from U.S.A.Track and Field, Bermuda, Jamaica, Hong Kong, Slovania, Netherlands, Macedonia, China, France, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Guiana, Mexico, and the Republic of Cape Verde. In the 1996 Olympics his clients garnered 11 Gold medals and countless silver. He continues to be active in track and field by providing service to the Mount SAC Relays and Modesto Invitational where he has served for the last 12 years. Mr. Varela was contracted and participated in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Daniel was also involved with the top NFL draft picks. Performance enhancing therapies prompted future NFL prospects, as well as, their agents to seek out the Deep Tissue Center’s specialized services. Mr. Varela was on staff with the World Champion XFL Los Angeles Xtreme. University football players from UCLA, Arizona State, USC, Fesno State, as well as, Pasadena, Cerritos, Mt. SAC, Whittier, East Los Angeles, Citrus, Occidental, El Camino, Santa Ana, and Rio Hondo junior colleges. His practice also includes some of the most elite high school athletes in the Southern State. Mr. Varela was a core addition to the 2007 Adidas Home Depot Invitational Track & Field event. He is currently working with baseball players from the Major League Baseball Clubs.
In 2004, in Athens, Greece, he was a part of the Olympic Medical Staff and as he was at the 2005 USA National Track and Field Championships. He is currently on staff with the USA Track and field Olympic training center in San Diego California.
Strength and power athletes from the world of power-lifting and body building are also his clients. World champion power-lifters, Boxers, UFC participants, and martial artists are believers in the "magic" that NMR produces in a well conditioned athlete.
Hollywood actors and actresses also make up a portion of his client list.
